Scot Forge said it has commissioned a new 5,000-ton hydraulic open-die press at its Spring Grove, Illinois campus, its largest to date. The press broadens the company's reach into heavier shaft and cylinder forgings for power generation, mining, and select defense programs.

The company will pair the press with an adjacent radial forging cell and a new in-line ultrasonic inspection station. Management said the added capacity was driven by booked work for turbine shafts and naval propulsion components through 2029.

Scot Forge employs roughly 700 people across its Illinois and Wisconsin campuses and is 100% employee-owned. President Tammy Anderson said the company prefers organic expansion to acquisition as it chases long-lead defense and energy contracts.
